Ahmad Washington, MSW, MDiv, is a #1 bestselling author, national speaker, education and leadership consultant, and the founder and CEO of MovementUP. He helps schools, educators, leaders, and youth-serving organizations build stronger cultures of connection where people feel seen, supported, challenged, and equipped to grow.
Washington is the author of The Cycle of Connection: Every Student Needs a Cheerleader, a Counselor, and a Coach, which reached #1 Amazon Bestseller status across eight education and counseling categories.
His work is grounded in more than two decades of direct experience serving children, adolescents, families, educators, and organizational leaders. Before expanding MovementUP full-time, Washington spent more than 20 years working with young people and families through Methodist Children's Home, gaining extensive experience in social work, counseling, mentoring, ministry, student development, executive leadership, supervision, crisis response, and relationship-centered care.
Since launching MovementUP in 2011, Washington has served schools, school districts, youth-service organizations, churches, juvenile justice settings, leadership teams, and communities through student enrichment, keynote speaking, professional development, leadership development, and ongoing consulting.
His work integrates practical frameworks to help people better understand themselves, connect with others, strengthen organizational culture, and translate awareness into action.
